Plex won't sync my library on the iOS app if my Mac media server has the VPN enabled

Hi everyone, this is my first post in the forums so I apologize in advance if this is a really easy question to answer lol.
So anyways, I’m running my Plex media server on a 2017 MacBook Pro with MacOS Ventura. I also have ExpressVPN enabled (with the setting of IPv6 Leak Protection disabled currently as an attempt to fix this problem).
I’m trying to sync my media library with the Plex app on iOS. The problem is, everything works fine when the VPN on my MacBook is disabled. However, when it’s enabled (which I want), the media library appears as “Offline” on the iOS app. Additionally, when the VPN is enabled the Remote Access in my media server settings switches from “Fully accessible outside your network” to “Not available outside your network”. Is there a way to fix this?
