I am having issues connecting to Plex on my Samsung UN65NU8500 TV when the internet goes out. The TV Has Plex app version 3.103.1. It is hardwired in, and has a static IP Address.
Under the network menu on the server I have the following range of IPs and subnets listed that are allowed without authorization.
192.168.1.0/255.255.255.0,192.168.2.0/255.255.255.0
It works without internet connection on a computer, another TV, and my Iphone. It will not work on the above mentioned TV though. Is there something I am missing?
Manually add the server in the Samsung client. You may also want to disable secure connections on the same network as the server. I think it’s by default now but check it anyway. This worked for me.
I manually added the server on the client and turned off my modem. I was able to achieve playback while I had plex already loaded from when I manually added the server. For grins and giggles I closed out of plex and tried relaunching seeing if it would still load it and it would not. It just sat there spinning and wouldn’t load. I went and checked other devices to see if I could access plex still and I could do it without issue. So on the problem TV I can access Plex offline if I am currently in the app and I lose internet connectivity, but if I lose internet connectivity and try to access the app from there it won’t load. Any ideas?
