Plex Year/Date Assignment is Getting Changed on New Music Albums Added to Library

On albums I have recently added to my music library, I am finding that the album years/dates are getting messed up with a -1 value. For example, I’ll prepare an album released in 2010, and I’ll tag the metadata in my MP3’s to say “2010” in the %year% tag. After importing the album into Plex, the library displays the year as “2009” and when you Edit the album info inside of Plex, it says the release date is “2009-12-31”. Something is subtracting a day from every album I load now, and causing the release year to display wrong in the Plex Music Library.

Looks like this has been happening for at least the past two versions of Plex Server 1.26.0 and 1.25.9. I run Plex on a Netgear ReadyNAS 626X. I just noticed this now.

Do you have the prefer local metadata flag on?

Yes, Prefer Local Metadata is set.

Here is the exact sequence for music files I just added and had to fix. Also want to point out at the end that this Year/Date field is really hosed right now.

I made MP3s from this DVD and created a cover. The MP3s are fully tagged with Artist, Album, Titles, Tracks, Year, Album Cover, etc. Here is what the entry looked like after adding the MP3s to my Music Library. It should have been shown as “2005” but shows as “2004.”

I then choose the Pencil Icon to edit the album info manually to fix the problem. “2004-12-31” is NOT what my metadata was set to. My metadata had “2005” in the Tag

So, I retype the date the way Plex likes them to look “2005-01-01.” I ‘Save Changes.’

Now the entry looks correct, but I should not have had to do all that. Plex used to work right automatically.

But here’s another problem - If you Edit the Album info a second time, it is REALLY screwed up now.

At this point, I ‘Cancel’ out of the Edit.

I have had to manually fix every album I have added to my Music library lately. Every time I manually fix the Year/Date, and I look at it again, the Year gets reset to 1969, no matter what I put the year to. What is going on?
