Are you talking about a Windows or Mac version of Plexamp? If so they don’t currently support Chromecast, it’s only mobile platforms.
If it’s not that maybe provide some more info as to what you’re trying to do.
I use windows version plexamp.
Due to restrictions by Google, casting from Windows cannot be performed. Mainly Google devices will not be seen in available cast devices.
[How To] Plexamp 4.6.1
if it’s to a chromecast, it’s a restriction by Google.
Casting in google in windows is possible. Then no restrictions. What is the use of a cast option in the windows app, that does not make any sense.
It is funny now I use the plexamp and the shield (chromecast build in) is visisble.
correct… because chrome(i assume is what you mean) is a google product.
android devices CAN see google devices… i’m not 100% on the shield.
yes sometimes it is visible but does not working properly, it connects but stops playing and sometimes it dissapears. I give up plexamp I think better to use the plexapp ons shield I think.
But thx for you’re response anyway.
yep… it’s definitely frustrating when companies put these type of hoops, hurdles and restrictions.
same goes for Alexa/Echo.
wish i can cast to it, but nope. it’s strange with them too… when Alexa plays something from your LOCAL server, it streams OUT to a remote proxy, then BACK to the Alexa. That’s something amazon does… like WHAT?? jebuz.
well good luck, cheers.
