Plexamp 3.8.0 starts up with an empty window on Windows 10

To clarify, there’s the app data:

C:\Users\elan\AppData\Local\Plexamp\Plexamp

And then the program data:

C:\Users\elan\AppData\Local\Programs\Plexamp

We’re curious about what’s inside the second one.

wow, that all looks right.

this is super confusing, especially since it works for all of us here running windows.

Here’s the final error message after clicking okay after the testing-4-3.8.0 installation.2021-11-04 15_33_27-Programs

anyone want to hop into slack and do a bit of live debugging?

if so, please DM me an email, first one wins

  1. I’ve never used Slack before
  2. I have to head out for a bit

Hopefully someone more qualified can chime in

Hi all - I have the same issue on my laptop (Win 10). Same errors as RRU with the testing-4 executable. All the paths in the errors do indeed seem to exist.

Oddly enough, 3.8.0 works just fine on my desktop (also running Win 10). I’m not sure what differences between the machines would account for the different behaviour though.

Many thanks to @DrTeapot for the help debugging the issue. Basically a change in the way a module is built resulted in a missing DLL.

We’re just wrapping up the next bug-fix beta and we’ll release shortly.

I don’t know if this helps, but here’s a “new” capture. I have another machine with Windows 10 (since I posted I had issues with Windows 11), it auto updated and now I see this.

Regarding the latest build you posted, I’m getting this message:

Then the “thanks for the help” message, Enter 1, Enter 2, Exit 2, Enter 3, Exit 3, Exit 1 and then the player runs as it should. Here’s proof.

Hope this helps!

Anything in the works for getting this resolved?

The fix was identified and is in the final stages of testing. Soon!

The fix is available now:
