Hi @elan, thanx for another great update !
Quick question, as I don’t see anyone talking about that.
Is it known that Autoplay is broken // not implemented yet on Android Auto ? Or do I have an issue ?
Hi @elan, thanx for another great update !

Hoping for the ability to shuffle downloaded playlists soon.

Uhhhh, it should work independently of Android Auto as far as I know, so perhaps something else going on? What are you playing? What are you expecting?
Let’s take a basic example : playing an album, then autoplay plays the next album from the same artist.
When I don’t use AA, I can see the “autoplay XXX album” at the end of queue.
But if I use AA, no matter when I use it (it could be for selecting the album and playing all of it, or simply by listening 5sec of a song in the current queue) it just removes the autoplay thing at the end of the queue.
Don’t know if I’m being clear, but if you need log or anything, just ask me.
Fixed in the next release.
Cool, thanx a lot !
Yeah, really want this sooner rather than later too.
I can not figure out how to make plexamp the default player for AA. I have went into the assistant and looked at the music apps that can be used as default, and plexamp does not show up here. So I can’t figure out how you can just say "Play (Song) by (Artist) or ask to shuffle music by “artist” without having to “ask plexamp to…”
Typically, the AA google Assistant will default to whatever music app was open last in AA. you can either launch Plexamp from then home screen of AA, or ive had some luck with saying “Play x song in plexamp”. Then Google Assistamt knows to switch apps. Once plexamp is running in the background you should be able to just tell it what songs, artists, etc without specifying the app.
About “Automatically resume media” in AA
I noticed a certain deterioration in the latest version: while before it was necessary to press the play button, now the pause button appears, press it and the play button appears, press again and music starts.
Plexamp never worked as expected (start music on AA startup) but the first solution (press play directly) was certainly more acceptable.
Update:
I state that I have a smartphone in the glove box always connected to the HU
if the car journeys are short therefore AA is often activated / deactivated, the pause button appears and I have discovered that the audio stream is active (you can see the track change) but the car system remains silent.
On the other hand, when I turn on the car in the morning and AA has been deactivated for many hours, the play button appears (therefore audio flow paused) even if for AA the music should start automatically
in fact the expected scenario would be the first but as mentioned before the audio stream for some reason remains in the smartphone …
I was wondering if 96/24 flac files are supported when connected to AA via USB (or Wifi) when using PlexAmp?
Thanks!
They’ll play fine, but without source matching. I’m not entirely sure what Android supports via USB in theory.
I’m not sure what you mean by “source matching”?
matching sample rate/bit depth of source material.
My problem is when I say “Ok google, play Exodus” it plays shuffles all songs by Exodus, and I would like them to play songs in order by album. Does anyone know how to achieve this? If I wanted to shuffle songs I would ask for that in the first place.
as far as i know, we don’t get told whether you said shuffle or play.
You should be able to achieve this if you can ask Google to play Bonded by Blood. Assuming you have Autoplay > Album Direction set to Next Album.
Small detail on blurry miniatures … tonight I noticed that the most blurry thumbnail is the main one while the smaller ones are legible
here is the legendary Lulubelle III beautiful detailed (photo taken on the fly)

and here it is again on the main page

same example with Ummagumma

but if it is a connection problem, shouldn’t the photo be blurred even in the smallest squares?
reasonably sure we supply high resolution artwork to the player; it would either be there or be absent.
has anyone else noticed this issue?
