Plexamp Android keeps playing after car Bluetooth disconnects

I use Plexamp 3.9.1 on a Samsung Galaxy S10+ (Android 11) in my car via Bluetooth.

90% of the time when I turn off the car while Plexamp is active, after a few seconds it continues playing through the phone speaker., i.e. it doesn’t stop playback when Bluetooth disconnects.
I don’t have this problem with any other audio playing app on my phone (e.g. Plex, Pocket Casts, Listen Audiobook Player, Spotify, Smart Audiobook Player).

Is there anything that can be done to prevent this?
I grabbed log files on a few occasions in case they provide any insights but I can’t seem to attach them here.

Debug logs captured after you walk away and it doesn’t stop would be very helpful.
