It seems that when you hit next or previous, the currently playing track fades out, and the new track fades in.
I wouldn’t mind if the previous track just faded out, but fading in the new track is undesired behaviour for me, often missing the first beat of the song. I feel that the new track should have a clean start when the old track has completely faded out.
Beyond that, the fade out doesn’t work as intended. When I press next or previous, the fadeout doesn’t begin from the point it was playing from, but rather strangely skips back a small amount of time. This creates a clear continuity error in the beat, and makes the intended smooth experience more jarring than just a simple stop start.
I would prefer an option to disable fading altogether, and even an option to add a small gap when skipping. It would be good to fix the weird fadeout behaviour (I can provide recordings if need be), but I really don’t like the fading in of new tracks, and the crossfading of two tracks even when crossfading is nominally disabled.
