Plexamp connection

Does Plexamp connect to the server differently than other client apps? I’ve spent the morning troubleshooting an issue with plex.tv connecting indirectly while everything else appeared to work as expected. During this, I noticed that while Plexamp would connect it always connected insecurely. After fixing the Plex.tv issue (additional NAT reflection options on my OPNSense FW) Plexamp connected securely. It’s then I noticed, on the server dashboard, that Plexamp’s local IP address is .1, which it isn’t, that’s my FW/Router. All other client’s local addresses are their actual IP address. This is obviously a byproduct of my FW reflection settings and doesn’t cause any issues, but why is it only Plexamp, what does it do differently?

PS - It turns out the plex.tv does the same thing. All other clients don’t appear to.

Current version of Plexamp can’t work around certain network configurations as well as other clients, c.f. Plexamp Network Connectivity Tips | Plex Support

However, we’ve completely replaced the networking stack in the next version, and it will no longer have these limitations.
