Plexamp not discovering server IP change

Hello again. I’m really not trying to be a PITA here.

I’ve recently changed around my network; relocating PMS to a new subnet as well as some of my players. Said player on my ShieldTV, after setting up my OPNSense FW correctly to pass GDM and MDNS, correctly sees my server and has no issues playing anything as though they were on the same subnet. Most of my clients are on the same subnet as PMS, and the Plex app on my mobile devices sees the server as expected.

However, Plexamp seems to have an issue with this change. Per usual, and as expected, while on an external network, it will pick up the server normally. However, while on the internal network, after looking at a pcap of my phone, there is still reference to the old IP of PMS and it makes no attempt to connect to the new IP. I see MDNS queries and responses only, no GDM, assuming Plexamp will attempt to discover via GDM, and there is no attempt to make a connection to the new IP.

After signing out and back in to the app, I’d somewhat expect it to do a full rediscover of everything but it’s not having it.

Just curious to know if this is some known issue, and whether there’s a way to kick it into finding the server, or simply manually point it.

So I have no idea what happened here, or why this has anything to do with anything, but after several reboots of PMS and various logging out/in to all the clients, I logged out of PMS, and logged back in. I was met with this server isn’t claimed…so claimed it and that sorted it. I don’t know why the main Plex app of the phone continued to see it without issue, but Plexamp did not. I also don’t know why this change wouldn’t be dynamic, or what got out of sync that it held onto the old IP.

In any event, this is seemingly sorted.

Plexamp does not use GDM, only plex.tv-published addresses; note that you can publish custom URLs if your network requires it.
