Plexamp Desktop Playback Issue / Bug?

Hey guys,
I hope you can help. I think I’ve found a bug. I’ve got an album that’s been ripped perfectly, yet between track 7 and 8 an issue turns up. When track 7 finishes there’s a split second of a loud static sound before track 8 starts. I’ve inspected both tracks in Adobe Audition and no issues there, I’ve played the 2 tracks in other plays, and no issue there. Even on the Plexamp Android app and that’s fine, but the desktop version is where the issue is happening.

What would be causing this? I’ve not noticed it on any other albums so far. I’ve taken the album off my server and re added, but same issue happens.

I hope someone can shed some light on this.

Thanks

Almost certainly an issue with the files. We use slightly different decoders on the different platforms, depending on the codec, and system decoders can be picky. If you can post one of them it might be helpful.

Hi elan,
Thanks for getting back to me. I can supply the 2 tracks to you and you can try. I will supply tomorrow.

In the mean time I’ll purchase a new copy of the album and see if a new rip makes a difference.

Hey elan,
Here’s the 2 tracks

Let me know what happens when you go from track 7 to 8 on the desktop app.

Thanks

Hey @elan
Did you get a chance to check those 2 tracks?
This morning I ripped the album from another copy, but still get the same issue.
Again it was a perfect rip, I’ve got the log files, if you need to see.
Maybe the codec needs adjusting if that’s possible?

Hope you can help.
Thanks

Can anyone share some feedback on this?
I really like Plexamp, but this one thing is annoying, so I’d love to find a solution.

Sorry, I haven’t had a chance to look and I’ll be out for a bit. I still suspect something weird with the encoder being used for the file or the source, otherwise more people would have the same issue, right?

Hey @elan
Ok, so I imported the album again, but just a rip with Apple Music instead of XLD and that has got rid of the issue. Very strange though as the 2 rips I did with XLD were perfect with no issues and the issue was only with the Plexamp desktop version.

Anyway, I’m happy the issue is gone now, but this could show up on other stuff.

oh wow, good to know you narrowed it down to encoder.
