PlexAmp DJ Freeze Doesn't Work

I am current on all of my Plex / PlexAmp updates. However, whenever I select a song and then try to choose the DJ Freeze it will instantly default back to No Guest DJ. It’s strange that all the other DJ’s seem to work fine, but this one is the only one that doesn’t work for me.

For a little more context, I am working with Christmas music and I have roughly 40 albums of music. I would imagine that at least a handful of them would fall under the DJ Freeze category.

I can provide logs if needed, but I can tell you that all the log says over and over is “Unable to open: No such file or directory (2)”

Let me know what I can do to make this work. It’s nice to listen to relaxing Christmas at times and then some more upbeat music at others, instead of getting a mix.

Something I wanted to add is that no matter the DJ I select, the logs will always say, Unable to open: No such file or directory (2)

You should provide Plexamp logs, otherwise it’s impossible for us to guess what’s going wrong.

Apologies for my stupidity. I didn’t realize that I could obtain logs specifically for Plexamp.

Apparently not

That’s incredibly surprising. Out of my 40 albums, not a single song met the criteria?

Sonic similarity is a different beast from “hey this is all christmas music so it’s close”.

Check some “Show Similar Tracks” options for the items. The other possibility is that sonic analysis hasn’t completed for some reason.

DJ Gemini works for me, and that one inserts the most sonically similar track after each track. Kind of the same vein, but thought I’d mention it.

I don’t see an option for “Show Similar Tracks”. Also, is there a way to check if sonic analysis hasn’t completed?

I know it’s not as simple as “Hey this is all Christmas music”, but having 40 albums of Christmas music means I have 10 different versions of the same songs such as Blue Christmas or The Christmas Song etc. I would imagine that it would at least filter those in.

I was hoping to get a little more insight to this, but it looks like that isn’t going to happen. I’m guessing PlexAmp is too complicated to really narrow down the reason, or there is information that Plex doesn’t want to make public on how PlexAmp works. These are total guesses, but either way, I’ll just have to deal with it and pray for a miracle for it to work. Anyone that has had this issue in the past and was able to find a fix for it, your information would be very helpful.

The insight is there for you to glean, by looking at sonically similar tracks and albums and you’ll see exactly how “close” we consider things to be.

With 10 different versions of The First Noel you’d think they would be sonically similar. Or at the very least, suggest a song from the same album. I have a Christmas jazzy-type album and they all sound similar, but they aren’t even picked up by DJ Freeze.

I guess I’ll either have to wait for PlexAmp to give a little more leeway, or just never use the DJ’s. I’m overall happy with PlexAmp, it’s just the DJ Freeze I wish I could really utilize more.
