I’m having an issue with Plexamp (4.11.5) on iOS (18.3.1) not playing downloads gapless. I’ve been able to reproduce this issue when the downloaded files are transcoded using the Automatic quality setting. The source content is ALAC, and I’ve tried FLAC as well, and both file formats have the issue, but they do play gapless if I keep the quality of the downloads on Maximum. Additionally streaming the same files which convert to opus do play gapless - any suggestions?
I’ve heard a few reports that Opus isn’t perfectly gapless. I would be surprised if it streamed differently than downloads, probably you have cached lossless.
Thanks @elan - I will add if I encode with a 3rd party encoder first and then use those files in Plexamp they are gapless - so more specifically it seems unique to Plexamp’s on the fly encoding. Thank you again for your help!
