I’ve been a casual Plex user for at least 5 or 6 years, with an increased interest in the past 2 as I’ve worked to clean up my personal music collection. In the past few months I’ve discovered Plexamp (and love it!), and just this past week I made the connection that I can manage podcasts within Plex.
My request would be to make it simpler within Plexamp to switch between my regular music library and podcasts. I’ve tested in both the desktop version (Linux) and mobile (Android) – I have to get back to my main screen, then click/tap the gear icon, then Source, select the source I’m looking for, then back out to the main screen. I’m not a UI expert and don’t have suggestions on improvement, but that’s a lot of clicking/tapping just to switch over to a podcast or vice versa.

I agree. I don’t use Plexamp generally, but I look at it every once in a while out of curiosity. Figuring out how to switch source libraries (any source, not just podcasts) was difficult the first time. Once I did figure it out, it struck me as very non-intuitive.
Podcasts might be better as a separate app; when you pick up your phone you usually know which of the two you’re going to listen to between podcasts and music, and that way you don’t destroy the play queue switching.
Alternatively, if we allowed more home screen customization, you could imagine combining bits from podcasts and music.
