Feedback for Podcasts in PlexAmp 3.00

Super happy to discover the PlexAmp 3.00 update. GREAT JOB.

The music side is really great.

For Podcasts, I have some feedback:

  1. Would be great if these were just integrated into the UI instead of switching between music and podcasts.
  2. When listening to Podcasts, would be great to have options like “stop after this episode ends/x minutes/etc”

Just a few notes, which you may already have noticed; when you play a Podcast, the show ends up in your Recent Plays area, which is accessible from all sources; and if you search for and browse into a Podcast, it stays in your Recent Searches area.

Just a couple of little things which help the source separation…

I would also like to have better podcast integration. Maybe it’s own tab at the bottom menu in iOS so I can easily view them and see what’s next up to play. Also an auto-download feature for new episodes.

I know some of this is in Plex app currently but it’s not well done at all and the auto download doesn’t work well. It downloads episodes that have already been listened to.

Plexamp is such a great music app and it would be great to have better access to podcasts in the app.

I will echo that feature request. I listen to a lot of podcasts, and a lot of music. It is very cumbersome to have to go into settings and switch the source to have the home screen show my podcasts’ new episodes. Would be great if that can be added to the home screen regardless of which source is checked in the settings as my primary source.

But overall, definitely my #1 music streaming app now. I have officially cancelled the music streaming service I was paying for, and removed all the other Podcast apps I had been using.
