PlexAmp for Android still running even when closed?

Love the app, but my Pixel 2 phone sometimes pops up a warning message that PlexAmp is running in the background - even when the app isn’t open (sorry, haven’t yet managed to snag a screenshot of this msg).

I’m semi-convinced that this is why my phone’s battery life hasn’t been as good as it used to be in the past month or two.

PlexAmp/Android v3.2.2
Android OS 11 (10/6/20 security update)

Any thoughts/suggestions?

I mean, the app can run in the background and idle until the OS decides to kill it, and it’s not always a bad thing; the next time you get the warning, post the logs (Settings > Advanced > Debugging) and let’s see if it’s doing anything besides twiddling its proverbial thumbs.

Super-delayed reply here… before bothering you further with this issue, I decided to first go ahead and do something I’d meant to do for a long time: namely, nuke-and-re-pave my phone.

I’m back up-and-running and I’ve got PlexAmp still on there and, not only do I still get notifications explicitly telling me that “PlexAmp is running in the background” (which Android doesn’t tell me about all of the other appsI have going at any given time) but I’ve also noticed that my Bluetooth earbuds consistently get disconnected when I get this message while listening to something!

I know - “debugging logs or I can’t do anything.” - will post as soon as I have them!

Hmmm, interesting  Not entirely sure what we’d be doing differently/wrong, but logs might help.
