Plexamp Headless not saving OpenAI preferences

Plexamp Headless is not saving OpenAI preferences (API key, GPT-4) server side. This means that OpenAI is not usable unless I enter the API key every time when I login, which for running Plexamp in kiosk mode on Windows, is every time the computer restarts (cookies are not preserved between logins for the kiosk user).

Some of the other Plexamp settings are affected as well (e.g., Playback → Audio Output → Sample Rate Matching).

More broadly, best scenario would be that all Plexamp settings are saved globally, possibly per-user logged on.

Thank you!

Slightly confused, all of Plexamp settings are stored on disk locally. What are you logging into?

Apologies - Plexamp Headless, via Edge, on a Windows computer configured in kiosk mode (therefore not saving cookies, like the logged on user). I have updated the original post.

Most settings are saved server-side in .local/share/Plexamp/Settings/, but not the OpenAI preferences. This means that even when logging on with the same user I always do, I would still need to re-enter the OpenAI key.

Plexamp is awesome by the way, many thanks!

Ah yeah, that’s the issue. Many of the “app” settings aren’t stored on the headless side and in browser storage, and it doesn’t support kiosk mode in this way.

Understood, thank you. Would it please be possible to store most or all settings on the headless side?

How would the headless device then differentiate between different clients (and their potentially different preferences)?
The erasing of cookies and other data in the web bowsers does make it impossible.

You know better, but I cannot imagine a scenario where the same user would want different OpenAI preferences depending on where (s)he logs on from. This is in contrast to experience settings (grid size, etc.) which make perfect sense to be stored in browser cookies, as they depend on the client machine.

It stands to reason that OpenAI settings (and possibly a few others) could be stored server-side, on a per-user basis.
