After the latest iOS update, PlexAmp finally shows my library on my iOS devices (having not worked for a long time).
However, whilst the tracks show up, they will not play. All I get is “Couldn’t start playback”.
The main “Plex” client app works just fine and the same music will play happily via that.
I’ve captured the logs (in verbose mode), but can’t see any obvious errors for the client, until it eventually says:
“WebSocket: client initiated close”
As mentioned, the music played fine from the same server & library using the primary “Plex” client app on the same device, just wouldn’t when using PlexAmp.
However…I’ve just tried something and got it working.
I have two libraries for music on the server, one “Kids Music” and one just called “Music”.
I switched to the “Kids Music” library and it then started playing the songs from that.
I switched back to “Music” and then the songs from that library then worked.
So it’s now working, but a little odd as to why it took for that switch to make it work.
yeah i don’t have a good explanation for that except maybe your server changed identifiers or something like that and plexamp didn’t pick up on it. definitely mysterious, and if you run into it again, let me know!
