I’ve recently installed a number of JBL speakers with Chromecast in my home. I wanted to use Plexamp to broadcast to them, particularly since it is server based. I started casting from my Android phone and had two, inconsistent, issues.
First, sometimes the playback is very spotty, coming and going from various speakers. I couldn’t pinpoint why this occurred.
More unsettling was that oftentimes the notification bar to allow me to stop the music didn’t appear on the phone. So there was no way to turn off a playlist that was being sent to the entire house. Sometimes I could use Google Home to stop the cast, but that didn’t always work.
