Plexamp keyboard shortcuts for remote control

On my linux desktop the media keys on my logitech keyboard are mapped to XF86AudioLowerVolume and XF86AudioRaiseVolume.

I have Plexamp on the desktop controlling the headless plexamp on Rpi. Is it possible to map the media keys as ‘Global Shortcut’ to control Plexamp volume?
