PlexAmp LiveTV Support - Audio Only

I have a pretty good suggestion that I would love to see happen. As Plex has LiveTV support, you can use it to watch LiveTV on your Plex Media viewers. Plex has now been expanded to the car with PlexAmp where there is now a CarPlay app which you can use in your car to play media using the touch screen on your car. I would like to suggest adding the ability to play other media besides music with PlexAmp, but audio only like you would with Music. For example, the SirusXM app, you have the ability to play Audio only of popular news stations on your phone or via CarPlay. There are other stations on there as well that you can also play audio only from.

There are also, depending on your provider, music stations that are available on LiveTV, it would be great to be able to play those as well through PlexAmp. While PlexAmp is marketed as a music media player, there is no reason why it couldn’t also play audio as well, giving you the ability to play these directly on your CarPlay radio. As there will be no video, that gets rid of the standard legality concerns of allowing someone to watch video while they are driving.

No votes? I figured people would love to be able to be able to play AUDIO ONLY streams of their favorite news channels while in the car. I use to listen to news all the time in the car when I had SiriusXM. While I have a work-around to use the regular Plex app to stream it through LiveTV on Plex through my phone, I can’t stop or start my favorite stations from the Car Play radio anymore like I use to be able to do with the SiriusXM app. This feature really would put PlexAmp and Plex in direct competition with SirusXM. Plus there are tons of IPTV radio stations available which you can stream through Plex today via LiveTV. Would be awesome to stream those through PlexAmp and be able to select your favorite LiveTV stations directly through the CarPlay PlexAmp without having to go through the smaller screen on your phone.

This feature would really put Plex against SirusXM as you could use it as a streamer without altering the concept of PlexAmp.
