Plexamp Login With Untrusted SSL Certificates

All web traffic on my work laptop goes through a third-party server that replaces HTTPS certificates with its own before they go out to the wider internet. I have the appropriate PEM files, where do I need to put them for Plexamp to recognize them? Or is there some other kind of workaround? Plex can log in just fine.

Edit: Copying a working %appdata%/Plexamp/ from another computer results in streaming working but Plexamp doesn’t understand what server it’s connected to and only the home screen works

You can configure your server to recognize a different certificate (see Settings > [Server Name] > Network > Custom certificate... options). Plex won’t recognize an otherwise injected certificate.

I believe the problem is authenticating with Plex, not my server. Here’s whta it looks like:

Is bumping acceptable on these forums?

That raises the question why your 3rd party server replaces HTTPS certificates. If it tries to do so with the communication between Plexamp and plex.tv, this is very likely causing trouble.

Yes, that’s why I was asking for solutions to that problem, like installing the PEM files somewhere Plexamp will recognize them.

Sorry, there’s no way to do that currently.

Darn. It’d be really nice if it looked at the system’s certs like Plex does, I’m pretty sure they’re there. Is there any way to transfer a login from another machine? I tried doing that and it almost worked.

It’s not going to work properly unless the app can access plex.tv on an ongoing basis.

Weird, it worked before. I installed it on my laptop before they implemented this and recently had to get it reimaged.

I guess if you were properly logged in, it would work for a while w/o needing to talk to plex.tv as long as your server didn’t move.

I’d have to dig into my work inbox to be sure but I think it’s been at least 2 months. Maybe the certificates were installed to the system differently?
