All web traffic on my work laptop goes through a third-party server that replaces HTTPS certificates with its own before they go out to the wider internet. I have the appropriate PEM files, where do I need to put them for Plexamp to recognize them? Or is there some other kind of workaround? Plex can log in just fine.
Edit: Copying a working %appdata%/Plexamp/ from another computer results in streaming working but Plexamp doesn’t understand what server it’s connected to and only the home screen works
You can configure your server to recognize a different certificate (see Settings > [Server Name] > Network > Custom certificate... options). Plex won’t recognize an otherwise injected certificate.
That raises the question why your 3rd party server replaces HTTPS certificates. If it tries to do so with the communication between Plexamp and plex.tv, this is very likely causing trouble.
Darn. It’d be really nice if it looked at the system’s certs like Plex does, I’m pretty sure they’re there. Is there any way to transfer a login from another machine? I tried doing that and it almost worked.
I’d have to dig into my work inbox to be sure but I think it’s been at least 2 months. Maybe the certificates were installed to the system differently?
