Plexamp Mixes For You:. Repetitive albums

When picking one of the mixes for you in plexamp I noticed the artists in the mix are what I would expect but each artist only has songs included from one album each. Like if Aerosmith is part of the mix it will only play songs from one of their albums. Same for any other artist.

That may be by design which is ok just wanted to point it out and see if the mixes could pull songs from a wider variety of albums per artist in the mix.

it picks albums which are sonically similar to the “seed” ones. not all albums from an artist are going to be close enough, generally.

Ok…but even the artist the mix is based on only has songs from one album. I would at least think the main artist would have songs pulled from a few albums/popular songs. Then sonically similar songs to those?

Just because I’m very curious - Are all of an artist’s albums considered in creating a mix or is it specifically one album of an artist that has been listened to recently that is used as the “Seed” for the “Mixes for you”?

I love the Mixes for You, it’s entirely changed my listening style with effortless tossing on of playlists.

depending on sonic distance we pick specific albums (considering all of them), or an entire artist’s discography.
