On the Mixes For You carousel, I click on an artist and choose the “Edit in Mix Builder…” option. It takes me to the Artist Mix Builder screen, but the only selected artist is … The movie Die Hard???
(None of the suggested artists below it are really relevant, just recently played.)
(I also want to be clear I do not have the Die Hard soundtrack in my library, this must be from the movie library…)
I do have access to a second server, although I rarely connect to it. Every available mix in the carousel exhibits this behavior and although the other server has some overlap, I know for sure some of the artists listed at the bottom of the cards can only come from my primary server.
The choices also appear to align with my listening history on the primary server.
Oh you know them, they’re the band you keep in your library because you paid good money for their albums and you should like them based on your other tastes but you still get annoyed every time they appear in a mix.
In all seriousness, I’ve found Plexamp mixes to be about 1/3 as expected, 1/3 WTF in a good way, 1/3 WTF in a bad way.
I understand it’s probably based on the quality of the metadata and everyone has different tastes (that they also think are impeccable) so it’s difficult. But I do find the idea of a pre-seeded mix builder interesting…
