PlexAmp is still my favorite app on CarPlay and is used more than anything else…except perhaps Audible (books). BUT there is one problem with PlexAmp that is quite serious. When I play a track from an album or playlist it does not reset that track when it goes on to the next track. So if I replay that album (or playlist) again it cycles through all the tracks and plays about the last 10 seconds of each track (not sure why it even does this since the track was completely played through last time). It seems like the code should not be difficult to tell PlexAmp to reset the track just finished to zero minutes/seconds when the next track starts playing. (I say “track just played” so that it will also work properly in shuffle play).
I have tried making sure that PlexAmp is not in the background on my iPhone…but even that does not reset played tracks to the beginning. This phenomenon has happened ever since PlexAmp has been available. (3 iPhones and multiple IOS upgrades). So it’s nothing new.
Make sure the “Store Track Progress” setting is not enabled on your Music libraries. That setting is useful for audiobooks, but it causes this kind of problem for music.
In the web UI, edit your music library. On the Advanced tab, uncheck the “Store track progress” option and save.
That should cause the server to no longer track your current position in tracks. As @beckfield said, that functionality is primarily useful for libraries dedicated to audiobooks. For a music library, you generally want it off.
