Plexamp: No Music Servers - Error

I would love to see more support for this application. I think it has a lot of potential.

I’m connected remotely from my work computer to my QNAP system at home. Through the Plex web interface, everything connects and works fine, but through PlexAmp, I’ve experienced the following issues:

  1. Sometimes I experience connection issues after playing 3 or 4 songs the player will hang up and freeze on the track (either before the track starts or halfway through)
  2. While running Terminal on Mac while PlexAmp runs, there are tons of “debug” protocols popping up as the tracks play

I don’t think this is normal, and it could very well be a port/proxy setting that I haven’t initialized, but I’m not an expert on the network side of things, so if someone has a fix for this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Things that I would like to see in future updates:

  1. Being able to switch between album artwork - from the linked artwork to additional artwork (inserts, back cover, etc.) and the artist image
  2. Display options to show the artist bio, links, etc.
  3. window option to display upcoming tour dates
  4. window option to display recent social media posts for the artist
  5. window option to display awards/nominations/chart positions by country/continent for artist, album, and track
  6. In app volume control rather than system volume (I typically have another audio source playing in addition to the music player, so it would be nice to set the system volume and then independently control the PlexAmp volume)
  7. Additional versions/similar artists display options for artists and tracks

I welcome the opportunity to collaborate on the future development of this application.

Sorry to necro an old thread, but I get this same error with custom self signed certs - certs added to Windows Trusted Root, and all other Plex apps are OK with them - can I whitelist the certs/turn off verification?

I notice it is picking up an incorrect IP for my server on the plex.direct domain - 10.14.16.9 instead of 10.14.16.90

This is likely the reverse proxy sitting on 10.14.16.9 so how do I make it ignore it?

I also have some problems connecting to the server remotely.

Everything works well in the local network and also remotely when the network is not protected by a firewall.
from the work network I can reach the server via a web client getting an indirect connection warning,.Connection impossible via plexamp.

can I do something to work around the plexamp issue?

Hi
