Server Version#: 1.41.6.9685
Player Version#: unknown, Latest PlexAmp version off the iOS store. I’m not going to look it up.
I went to add Plex to my dad’s iPhone yesterday and give him access to my music folder. After I get Plex downloaded, plugged in, and finding my libraries; I discovered that I needed to download an entirely separate app to play music on iOS… for some reason. So I download PlexAmp, we login via a web browser SSO (and discover we’re able to remotely access all the files just fine through a browser), I hit next and the app eventually times out trying to find my server, saying it can’t find it; the only buttons displayed bring me to a worthless FAQ page and “Try Again” which will time out again. I can’t progress past that screen to figure out what’s going on with the connection. If I put the phone on the LAN that has the server on it, PlexAmp can find my server. It’s only PlexAmp remote access.
Like I said, regular Plex app on his phone works just fine; found my server no problem and streams like a champ. My android streams everything remotely just fine. It’s only PlexAmp on his iPhone. I don’t have access to another iPhone to test out. My NAS is running on a wired connection, with nothing really special running on the side. The phone does have a VPN installed on it, but it wasn’t running when we were trying to connect. I think he might have a antivirus running.
Any ideas on how to get this fixed or what direction I should be looking?
