Plexamp not showing as player

Server Version#:1.18.7
Player Version#:1.1.0

I just want to control plexamp remotely.

It used to show as a player in the Android app, it doesn’t anymore
I took a subscription break which I have now reinstated

Dashboard shows the Plexamp activity - does not show in the ‘select player’ list tho

Plexamp running in Linuxstation on Qnap 453DX, which has Plex server running in its native OS

Try removing your plexamp configuration, it’s saved in ~/.config/Plexamp on my linux… or similar… depends on your OS. Remove the Plexamp subfolder.

Then start plexamp again and go thru the player auth step from scratch.

hope this helps

Thanks! Tried as suggested. No difference.

I don’t know what Linuxstation is, but I have a hunch that this is some kind of “container” or “virtual machine”.
And this may mean that the Plexamp instance is not in the same local network, but in a separate one. Plex companion will only work within the same local network.

Thanks, yes, Linuxstation is Linux running in a container. The addresses shown in dashboard are local to the network, Plex is not allowed remote connections in my setup, Plexamp has worked in this scenario before. Plexamp does not show as a player even in a web interface running in the same Linuxstation container…

All I wanted was gapless playback

Shucks, too bad

gapless seems to be working as crossfade lately, even on plexamp.

I have the same problem. I only recently installed Plex, and it seems Plexamp is only visible as a player to PlexMediaServer and the browser based interface, but not the Android app

The current public Android app has a bug, which is fixed in the latest beta app. It should go public in a few days.
