This feature used to work for me- I’d see the volume/waveform of a song in the seek bar in Plexamp. However I just wiped and reinstalled my server and recreated my library, and now I don’t see that waveform anymore.
This is happening on Plexamp on iOS and Mac. Multiple devices. I’ve tried clearing the cache and logging out and back in again, didn’t work.
Sonic Analysis on the server side appears to be working since I AM seeing the other features that rely on it (sonically similar albums, etc)
I’ve tried unchecking/rechecking the Sonic Analysis box in my library settings and forcing a re-analyze… didn’t help.
The waveform (seekprint as we call it) doesn’t depend on Sonic Analysis, it’s tied to the “analyze tracks for loudness” setting, and usually happens during the maintenance period (assuming you’ve got that setting enabled).
If the library is large, it could take a few maintenance windows to complete. Failing that, server logs should tell the story.
Well, it should have been doing that as a scheduled task, and I’m not sure why that wasn’t running. (The machine itself was certainly awake at the time.)
By doing so, you deleted all the loudness analysis data. They must be recreated now.
Depending on the size of your library, one or two maintenance periods might be not sufficient to achieve that for the whole library.
Nah. I have a pretty small library and it’s sitting on an SSD. The process at the command line took about 5 minutes. Should have happened during the first maintenance window. Happy to supply logs if Plex engineering wants to look at them, because this was a bug.
I tested a bunch of albums in Plexamp. The loudness data is there. (It wasn’t before running that command.) And I watched the scanner processes running at 300MB/s in Task Manager. Five minutes at 300MB/s is roughly 90GB, roughly the size of my library. Some people run the Plex server on a beefy computer. I am one of those people.
Have you checked for the presence of the Loudness value in the Plex media info on the very track where the seek print is missing in Plexamp?
And are you sure that you didn’t play a previously downloaded version of that track?
And are you sure that you played that particular track from your own server and not from a shared library or from Tidal?
