Should be possible as both Windows and macOS can launch apps, but I am unsure how much information can be passed on via the link.
my initial wish was for the track/album to be available to play in the browser or app when shared but @elan said something along the lines of that being out of scope for this project.
Additionally I suspect it’s not in the interest of Plex to allow non-pass members to access the music remotely. Nevertheless, since Plex is completely accessible remotely via browser / app I don’t think it would be difficult to get existing users to login remotely and the “shared” album to be playable in the browser.
