Plexamp sharing link query

I tried the sharing link option, copying the link and texting it.

When you receive the text and click on it, plexamp opens but not to the song you shared - is it supposed to work like that?

Tried from my Android phone sending link to an iphone, and also to my android phone

songs open the to the album, with the track selected.

Oh ok not obvious. Personally would like it to start playing the track. Neither of the two people I shared to could work out which song I was sharing

Edit: thanks for adding though, and for scrolling fields :+1:

We didn’t want to automatically start playing things, what if the user is already playing?

Ok no probs

@elan might I suggest, maybe a flash or highlight or bold text to draw the eyes to the track? Something visual but subtle to grab attention.

A border, or a different icon on the left side? There is that small icon for popular tracks, maybe just a simple arrow pointing at the track? or maybe just maybe the users Plex profile image? Or maybe something that says “This One”, or “Shared with You” Or just “Shared”. Just brainstorming here. Thank you for this feature, I have taken so many screenshots of songs and texted the to my friends, this will make it much better for everyone.

Sorry, isn’t the entire track highlighted with a different colored background?

Yes, yes it is. I didn’t notice. I retract my statement. My bad.

Think that’s the point though, didn’t notice

If plexamp isn’t playing would be nice for it to start automatically

That would imply very different behavior in the two different cases, which is unexpected from a UX perspective.

Ok, just a suggestion. I would like that but guess everyone has different views

Ok so I sent a few links to a couple of friends, and they tell me that they prefer I text them the image of the track rather than share the link.

In direct sunlight they didn’t notice the color difference as I did not notice it either. In darker settings you can see it better, but it is easy to miss the color difference. Here is a picture a friend sent me. I shared the link with him for track 5. With album covers that use darker colors it isn’t as easy to see if your walking outside in the day time.

Also my friend is color blind, just as another data point. A little indicator to the left of the track number would probably be easier to spot in my opinion.

Opening directly to the song rather than album may be another option, even if it doesn’t play it

As another user said, sometimes the contrast is not so strong to clearly see it, i think it is right that sometimes it is not so visible.

It may me just thought, it could be interesting to see it blink a few times.
I think it will be more visible and can be more appealing even maybe give an exiting signal !

I’ve tried to use this feature but none of the people I tried sharing with could figure out what I was sharing, so until it’s changed unfortunately it’s a none goer for me :worried:
