As the title says I’ve got the new plexamp beta running on my Raspberry Pi 4B successfully.
I wanted to show my sister how neat the new version is. She tried to cast a song to it from her android smartphone (we’re in the same WLAN network and she has access to the music library that the pi uses) but could not.
The Pi with plexamp running doesn’t show up as a player for her. It only does for me.
I knew that using the Plexamp app on a device requires having the Plexpass (which she doesn’t have), but she’s not trying to use any plexamp app. Only to select a song from within the regular plex android app (which she paid for) and let it play on my stereo.
Does the new version prevent other users within the same local network who have access to the same library that the pi is using from casting to it from their own Plex accounts? If so that’s pretty inconvenient.
I like having friends over who I also share my libraries with and have all of them cast stuff to the stereo to mix it up over the course of an evening. With the previous version of plexamp for raspberry pi from 2019 my friends were able to do so.
Some clarification would be nice.
