Hi guys! Im trying to understand the difference for playing my FLAC files locally at home from my Plex server, using Plexamp or a DLNA iPhone App.
Is there any difference in using one or another? I noticed that when playing using DLNA the dashboard at my server does not detect something being played when when casting to my Chromeaudio from this DLNA supported app.
Extra: Anyone knows if Chromeaudio supports Hi Res audio on the optical out?
Different as in “it’s a completely different experience”?
Absolutely!
DLNA clients are simply playing file by file as it’s being served to them.
They should also only find content while being in the same network (DLNA does not support stuff like remote streaming).
Makes me wonder if you’ve even been using Plexamp.
I would have at least suggested to use the native Plex app for iOS instead of going DLNA
Edit:
Maybe just a few examples why Plexamp is awesome…
