Hi all what the HAT support like on Pi’s I have two using HifiBerry Amp2 HATs anybody else using these without any issues?
I’ve heard of some people using them, yeah.
Personally, I prefer going USB right into a standalone digital amp, because:
- There are a wide number of digital amps available, e.g. AIYIMA A08, Fosi Audio DA-2120C, LOXJIE A30 and many others.
- You can get a Pi-equiv w/o any audio or hat like NanoPi R4S with a nice metal case.
Not related to the post and out of curiosity
do you use a case for your Pi ? If yes, could you tell which one ?
If you’re asking me, all my Pis are “naked”, but I’m transitioning them to R4S + metal case.
I need support for hats as I have two pis inbuilt into speakers, they make them into a DiY fully wireless speaker systems. I use these all the time one in my home office and one in the bedroom. I have 3 others in use via USB to dacs.
Case wise can’t go wrong with the Flirc case nice looking and well built case that also acts as a heatsink.
In any case, support for the HAT is the operating system’s task.
As long as the audio interface is available per the ususal APIs, Plexamp can use it.
That’s all I need to know, thanks.
