I’ve been trying out plexamp as my main podcast app, and thought I should share some bugs I’m experiencing in order to help improve it!
Plexamp cannot skip between episodes in a podcast and as a result will not play the next episode when finished.
There is no way to see if an episode has already been played before.
When sorting by oldest first only the first 3 episodes are shown, even if they’ve already been played. To play the upcoming episode the user has to open “Episodes” and find the episode manually.
When scrolling the list with all episodes, delays in lazy loading can cause episodes to be in the wrong order.
(MAC OS) When skipping back a few times the player will hang and a restart is required.
(iOS) When skipping back using the lock screen controls playback often resumes at a unexpected point in the podcast (minutes too early or too late).
Keep up the good work, hope the podcasts users will get some love too =)
Would love to see a “number of plays” for music tracks. This would solve the Podcast issue of not knowing where you left off for a series. Or in my case, and Old Time Radio Show issue.
Check this screenshot for example, this show has over 30 episodes. Yet the skip to next track button is disabled and the Up Next list is empty. Skip back will only restart the episode.
I have noticed this a lot on my iMac when I try to skip back a few seconds into the podcast by clicking the progress bar a few times, but I can’t reproduce it on my Macbook so I’ll get back to you if I can reproduce it faithfully. While on the subject: the ability to skip back/foward x seconds with the keyboard arrow keys would be pretty useful with podcasts
I was using the Plex app before when I noticed it a few times, so maybe this could be a an OS issue… Though I never experienced it in the Apple Podcast app. I’ll share a log when I notice this happening in the future.
Ok so I experience this 1 out of 2 times when pressing the progress bar to skip back a few seconds. I’ve added a screenshot of what happens (the play pauze button turns into a loader, and I have to start the episode again to continue playback). Sometimes the app hangs completely when restarting playback from the episode details screen.
I’ve tried completely removing the app and all settings and reinstalling.
As a follow-up: I’ve tested the new version and the problem above is still there. You can test it by playing a podcast for a while (maybe 10 minutes) and then skipping backward a few times (for example by pressing the progress bar).
This is not just the desktop version but also the mobile version,
