I currently use Plex running off of my synology 918 plus. I’m not sure if this issue is related but it is the only thing that has changed. I recently upgraded from DSM 7.2 to 7.3 which eliminates transcoding. When playing music through the Plex amp application on my iPhone, songs seemed to skip. They skip as if I were in 1995 listening to a CD that had scratches. All songs playing in order but it jumps ahead every couple seconds. I checked to see if transcoding was turned off and it is. When I download the song, it appears to play without skipping. I can also play it outside of my network on a web browser through Plex and there appears to be no problems. Any suggestions?
Go back to a non-beta version of Plex server.
I can’t because DSM 7.3 removed transcoding and breaks plex. Beta is the only way it works.
I had the same problem on plex amp. I just uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it fixed the issue. Not sure if it was because of an update but it was an easy fix.
I’ve been seeing the same thing. I’m running plex on a i7-8700K CPU (Windows 11) with 64 GB of Ram. and 2 - 1 Gig NICS.
Started about 2 months ago, and seems to happen regardless of client and whether I’m on WAN or LAN.
Same for me, really annoying.
I’m not on beta, re-installing the app doesn’t help.
Perhaps not the exact issue but…
Interesting enough, the issue seems to have gone away. But now my TV buffers on video playback. I reinstalled plex on tv and issues seems to be gone.
Im having the issue and its on playback on my iPhone. I just have it as Muzak while I work, and at first I thought it was just in my head, but it keeps happening.
Running Version 4.147.1 and plexamp is on the latest android app, same issue here.
Same issue.I was beginning to think it was just me. Glad I checked here. Will see if I can roll back server version because reinstalling Plexamp didn’t work. Shame that Plex takes 2 steps forward and 3 back with every release. Only serving to convince me more that I should be looking for alternative / better solutions… And before anyone starts saying it’s better etc. I’ve been a lifetime Plex pass owner for nearly 11 years now. Peak Plex experience was around 4 to 5 years ago
