This should be intentional since some of us who at the beginning of PlexAmp voiced how we weren’t able to find artists in our other libraries, especially for those who separated their music by genre or style (not me though). It becomes beneficial but I can understand the need to only search that particular audio library only. I never thought this issue would be so complicated to solve. Personally I thought this could have been solved by simply checking on / selecting which audio libraries to be active during the PlexAmp session. This method made perfect sense since playlists were not in any way specific to any one library, just whether it was audio or video. Its possible to have an audio playlist with a mix of tracks from more than one library source so why not allow multiple selection of libraries when searching? But, eh hem… (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡┻━┻ instead. We haven’t been given this magic yet.
@elan please correct me if I’m wrong but this upcoming switch is independent from the VISIBILITY option (ex: Exclude From Home Screen and Global Search) under the Music library settings? Will these effect each other in any way? And thank you for addressing this issue.
When enabled in Plexamp, we’ll pass the specific library we want to limit the search to. When disabled in Plexamp, we’ll just let the server pick based on the search settings.
I’d sort of forgotten about that server setting, I think it still makes sense to have client setting but now I’m actually not sure anymore
Client setting please as I want Plexamp to preform very different than the full fat Plex.
Btw I finally dumped iTunes after using it from its inception as Plex+Plexamp is just better. Your development team should be proud of it. Can cast flac to chromecast audio too, which iTunes can’t. Awesome.
Audiobooks I dumped Apple Books for Plex+Prologue which is a fantastic combination.
