Plexamp Shuts Down Since Android 12 Update

Last week my wife and I both updated our Pixel 3 XL to Android 12. We both use Plexamp via Bluetooth in our cars for music and since the update Plexamp has been having some strange issues. Both of us have had Plexamp just totally shut down during listening and have had to open the app up again to play it again. Yesterday I opened an email on Gmail while streaming and it shut down again. I was curious if anyone else was having this issue. I kind of suspect that the Pixel 3 XL doesn’t have the RAM for Android 12 because it hasn’t been running very smoothly.

If you have the ability to look at your logcat you may see it being killed because Android is getting low on memory. We’ve heard reports that happens occasionally with Android Auto (which sucks up ~1GB of RAM itself :scream:)

I pulled the logs but it looks like the logs were only for today and it didn’t crash on me at all today. I’m not using Android Auto, but like I said, the phone kind of runs poorly on Android 12. I’m waiting for my Pixel 6 Pro to come in and hopefully I won’t have the same issues there.

I have kind of the same issue with Pixel 4XL. plexamp will stop playing music after about the 2 minute mark on Android Auto on Android 12 (audio stops but pause button still appears). Unplugging and replugging the cable temporarily fixes it

My Pixel 6 Pro came in and I’ve had no issues so far with Plexamp running. I kind of did a bit of a load test where I used Plexamp just streaming through Bluetooth, I used Plexamp with Android Auto (which is now baked into Android 12 and not a standalone app), and also opened Pokemon Go with all of it running. No issues at all so I really do think it was probably a RAM issue.
