Server Version#: Docker 4.108.0
Player Version#: Plexamp 4.8.3
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>
Often, Plexamp will play one song, then it will just stop at the end and not play the next song. If I force quit app (happens on iOS and windows 10 desktop), and reopen and play, it will play another song, then stop again at the end of it. It is like the auto play to the next song is broken. I’ve fixed this by restarting the Plex Server Host, and it will be fine for a while, then it will start happening again.
Thanks for answering. This setting was already disabled on the server side. The issue is intermittent. So I’m wondering if my server is underpowered? Its an old 3rd generation i7. Could that be a reason? But I know some people are doing fine on a Raspberry Pi…
Hard to say without knowing how much load it has when the issue is occurring.
Are there several people using it at the same time?
Did it perhaps perform a library scan when it happened?
Does the same happen if Plexamp is used on a different device, like a phone or tablet?
It happens on at least the iPhone app and the windows desktop app, latest version, multiple versions. I’ve been fighting this for years at this point.
I do think it has something to do with a library scan. I’m trying to get my logs to work properly. I’m not getting my Plex logs where they are readable by tautulli or Plex Dash. When it is frozen and I check the container logs in Portainer, it seems like it is doing some sort of scan.
Count me in on this; I recently setup multi-room audio play using Google Home and a group of Chromecast + Google TV devices scattered around the house (Google Home Speaker Group).
The scenario is
Initiate Plexamp on an Android device to cast to the Google Home Speaker Group
Plexamp starts off OK and will play for an hour or so
Plexamp stops playing, although the NEXT item in the playlist is shown as selected.
The navigator toolbar icons indicate that Plexamp should be playing the track. It isn’t. The elapsed time remains on 0.
At this point user intervention (pause/ play or NEXT) will start play again.
I’m running Plex off of a Qnap system, which has failover ports using port-turning. One set is 4x1GbE and the other set at 2x10GbE. Both were set to balanced-ab. The problem went away when I disabled the 4x1GbE set.
This issue has been driving me nuts for months – I hope this helps someone, or at least points them in the right direction.
