Try disabling the two check boxes in the above screen shot.
On the “Spatial Sound” tab, disable all of the effects.
Did that yesterday, no spatial sound effects are enabled.
Then I’m officially out of ideas for now.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. What are next steps? How do I get a bug report submitted to the PlexAmp Devs?
I’ve already posted in the internal chat room.
We’ll see if something stands out in your log.
did you also try changing to different sample rates in the windows audio settings?
(in the one example i described earlier, i couldn’t tell if it was the bit depth or sample rate … or the combination of both … that “solved” the audio stuttering issue)
I dropped it to:

I will drop it further and continue testing
Dropped to a ludicrous 384 kHz sample rate? ![]()
Oh, I just meant from 32-bit to 24-bit.
I’m down to 24-bit 48000hz now and seeing if the problem occurs.
That didn’t take long. Same issue on “24-bit 48000hz”
ok, issue exists with 48k and 384k sample rates … does it also exist at 44.1k (or multiples of that)? that’s the last thing i can think of to try
So, your log is just confirming my initial suspicion. The OS appears to starve apps of cpu cycles, which are not in focus.
Since this should not happen with default settings and with that kind of hardware that you have, I can only assume that something on your system was changed away from default.
Some kind of very agressive power-saving policy or similar.
I disabled allowing the Power Plan to put my NVMe’s to sleep, no change.
The plan is set to “High” and nothing should be turning off/going into power saving mode based on that. I have no idea what else to look for.
Spotify doesn’t have this problem as a music player. I’ve listened to the same play lists on there.
I don’t know what has changed but I believe this is resolved now. It’s either the latest version of Plex Amp or some Windows Update from Feb or March.
