Hello, I actually made a post about this some time ago: Plexamp taking a long time to first connect to server when connecting remotely
It hasn’t been resolved since then. Basically, whenever I open Plexamp when I’m not on the same WiFi connection as my NAS, which is hosting the Plex server, it loads for like a minute before connecting.
Normal Plex, Plex photos, and plex dash all connect pretty much instantly, it’s just plexamp that has this issue. Not sure why. I’ve uploaded logs from today. Remote access is enabled and uPnP is enabled on our router.
Any thoughts on why this could be happening?
Did you leave plexamp in the previous session while it was on the Library tab at the bottom? (That’s the second one from the left)
Probably most of the time, yeah. But sometimes I’ll leave it on the now playing screen as well. Happens either way though. It happens basically 100% of the time.
The Player screen is an overlay, while the selected tab is still open and active behind it.
Next time you close Plexamp, ensure that you have switched to the Start page.
Then see what happens on next Plexamp start.
Huh, it seems like it didn’t happen when I leave it on that page. Do you know why that is? It would be more convenient if I could leave it on any page but at least I know some way to get around it.
The Library tab shows these statistics about the number of artists, albums, songs, etc.
I assume that re-computing these is triggered at app start, and is what produces the significant lag.
