On my VW T-Cross I cannot see the album cover on the dashboard (display behind wheel). It’s displayed correctly on touchscreen, but it’s not displayed right on the other screen. I used different apps (Apple Music, Apple Podcast, Spotify) and all of them displayed the album cover correctly there. It’s not some predefined cached database of covers, as I’m adding also a picture of niche podcast that is also correctly displayed.
Generally we set the artwork and iOS takes care of the rest, not sure what we’re not doing here, unfortunately.
I’d guess that the format of the thumbnail could be wrong. Do you convert it to something specific or it’s whatever file is uploaded to Plex? I’d try different sizes, different formats if you can confirm that it’s not converted in any way.
We just give iOS the image, it does whatever it wants with it.
