Plexamp Window desktop spinning play button

I listen to Plexamp all day on my PC while working. Starting with version 4.10 it will stop playing audio several times a day. It is always within a few seconds of starting a new track. The play button will turn to a spinner. Hitting next plays the next track fine. Going back to the previous track and then next to the song with the original problem also works fine. I’ve been listening to Plexamp like this basically since it was released, and I’ve never had it stop during playback like this.

This error will show up in the logs:

It’s always best to post a full log, as many times the snippet is lacking nuance.

Based on that error looks like you have an intermittent network issue.

Plexamp.zip (430.3 KB)
Here is the complete log. I wouldn’t think it would be a network issue (everything is wired local LAN). Its strange that it started with 4.10. I will try rolling back to 4.9.5 and see if it still happens.

I knew the full log would help

Looks like in some cases, the server is not giving back any data for a media file. Could be network, could be disk or similar issue on server, that log would probably show the root cause.

Plex Media Server.zip (459.8 KB)
The media server logs covering that same timeframe.

I’m back on 4.9.5 for now. No hiccups yet. I will report back if run into it on Monday on this older version.

Hmm, it’s still unclear what’s going on, unfortunately. Please keep me posted if you continue to reproduce, and I can see if we can provide further assistance.

Sorry for the late follow up, I was out of town last week.

I rolled back to 4.9.5 and let it play through for 3 days without a hiccup. It then auto updated back to 4.10 and the issue is back. I haven’t seen the issue on any other client (iPhone, other computers) but I don’t listen on them for nearly as long as on this computer.

I appreciate the investigation you have done so far. It isn’t a killer bug (I have to hit the next button once every couple of hours), but I was hoping the issue would be an obvious difference between the two versions. I am in software development myself, so I should have know that would not be the case.

Hmm… that’s pretty clear evidence something has changed.

If you DM me your email, I can get you into our slack and you can try the beta and/or we can try some other things. We highly value technical users!
