For users of Crystal HD card:
A lot of videos will only play from the beginning, and not resume or fastforward. Then only the sound and subtitles will show. But no picture.
Ive seen this in both Linux and OSX.
The same videos will work fine when using “XBMC as XBMC”. Is there any way you could fix this, or is it a XBMC bug?
Hippo would it be possible to get a modification to the Quartz skin so it supports the new PVR function?
Must say I love EDEN with your plexbmc addon. Only PVR function missing now =) Well it is in some other skin but I like Quartz =)
Got Airtunes and Airplay working last night. XBMC feels more and more like the frontend that PLEX should have been for mac =)
And I think I just realised that this is not a standard eden thing i am asking for …

Well it would still be great to have support for this in quartz.
After further testing when using "XBMC as XBMC" I have found out that the picture still dissapears. But I can at least resume.
Probably the Crystal HD drivers that are not up to the task. I have the BCM70012, maybe the BCM70015 is better in this regard.
The plugin doesn't provide any playback features, it simply uses the standard XBMC functions to start playback. If playback is erratic then it down to XBMC I'm afraid.
The only extra thing that Plexbmc does is when it comes to resuming. Video in the XBMC library is restarted a different way to plugin video - and it all down to how cBM. Managed the restart timestamp. If I want to give you the option of starting from the beginning or restarting, I have to play, pause, seek, unpause. It's cludgy but works.
I did have a look at the xbmc code, but i couldn't work out how to make the change.
I was really hoping to get some cheap ATV1 to set up in different rooms and/or at friends. ATV1 + Crystal HD seems to be too unstable no matter if Linux and OSX is used.
Looks like a jailbroken ATV3 (when it comes) will be the savior for cheap XBMC-boxes. The A5 chip is a champ at decoding 1080p. The 42mbit killa (birds) sample played back with no frame drops on my ipad2. The atv2 and ATV1 + Crystal HD is gasping for air when trying to play back the same clip.
Hope you find out.. kinda useless having to always start from the beginning..
I'll gladly incorporate it in a skin but I have no means of testing it. I'm willing to help if someone would like to try porting PVR from another skin.

noooooooo. unless i missed something, there hasn't been any catching up at all on linux (client-wise).
New windows client is built around the Eden code I think. Crystal HD. Automatic refreshrate. No need for Plexbmc on Windows any more. It is friggin fantastic.
But yeah…for Linux there is still need 
I hope you do continue to develop it. Unless this means I can run my XBMC plugins like IceFilms or livestreams or Sportsdevil, in Plex, I want to keep having my cake and eat it too. XBMC has better plugins/addons, there is no question about it. New ones come out all of the time. What you allow me to do is centralize my library with little configuration using the Plex Media Server and play the few plugins Plex has that XBMC doesn't have in XBMC. Right now, I have the perfect set up and I was looking forward to what PleXBMC might become with the new PMS. Just my two cents. If you choose to stop developing...thanks for all of the advantages you've already provided me;).

I also like that XMBC is more configurable. Once myplex is added to PleXBMC I still will be using it over the newest release for the above reasons (addons) and better control over experience (One small example, but important is that XMBC has option to auto 'zoom' 4x3 tv shows to wide screen.)
I had a look and seems dharma based, but with the ffmpeg updates. Also, I couldn't get I running on Windows against my mac server :-p
As far as development, I'll tidy up the code and make an Eden release. It's what I've been using for the last 3-4 months without issue - so I don't think there is very much do to. Plexbmc works against the new 0.95 plex server, so it might be a case of adding any new features which I'll investigate.
Linux is a funny one. The plex devs have obviously re-forked XBMC for OSX and windows, but Linux is working on XbMC too. So I guess they should be able to get that going too - perhaps its the testing, packaging and delivery that's causing issues.
Worked perfect in Windows to my mac server… just amazing. Yeah…Plex on linux would be really sweet. In the meantime your plugin will fit in nicely.

Ah, looks like you need to be:
a) signed into myplex on the client
B) publish your server to myplex.
otherwise it doesn't find them. I guess it's to overcome the lack of bonjour built into windows, and therefore makes it come self contained - but is less than self explanatory.
Always knew it would come along sometime - and considering teh code base was XBMC by origin, then re-forking XBMC would seem to be the easiest way for a quick upgrade.
The mediastream skisn is less than polished - already seen a number of transition issues in the 10 seconds since I got it going.
Fancy porting over quartz? If I decide to use Plex Windows client full time (and i'm half and half) then I'm tempted to have a look myself.
I'm looking at it right now as I wanted to give Laika a test run.
It seams to be "ONLY" a matter of modding Home.xml as the rest seams to be working, judging by a quick test. I have a problem though as Home.xml seams to be crashing Plex and I don't now why. My guess is it has something to do with Plex auto populating home items and I'm not able to find more info about how's this supposed to work. Skin developement forum seams to be asleep :)
Yup, and I would very much like to port a revamped version as it has some great improvements. However, it's using variables so "porting" would be more that just a copy-paste. And I'm seriously lacking profiles support in Laika, recently added, queue and dock thing being a kids-adults-content soup.
I can see Plex for Windows becoming a top media center application just like it is on Mac OSx, but with that said Plex integration in XBMC like PlexXBMC allows us to do could provide the best of both worlds.
There are tons of new stuff in XBMC Eden for instance that will take quite a bit of time to arrive on Plex. Right now most Plex plugins don’t work on the Windows version. In XBMC some plugins are better then on Plex. Subtitles integration comes to mind. There branches that are already supporting stuff like DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD. I could go on and on, but there are a lot of reasons to continue building a PlexXBMC plugin. I’m very interested on the continued development of this plugin.
BTW, it would be great if you would throw in latest features like Queue, Recently Added and Deck. Recently added already have its place, I guess Deck could be simply added as an submenu item.
