AWESOME! Thank you Alexanbj and Hippojay both for your time and hard work.
I have got the Quartz skin running but it has what seems to be a line of debug text on the screen at all times. How do I remove this?
Thanks, fantastic work you’re doing here!

So, when to expect the new version, hippojay?
Is there any way I could select my Audio to #2 ? because my #1 is mostly german, but I want to watch the movies and tv shows with my english audio number #2
as Ive set it in PMS. Ive tried beta 4, but no changes there so far.
Edit addon.xml and change the debug line from "true" to "false".
Okay, that took me a while to find :P It was set to false in the zip so had to go into SSH on the pi.
If anyone needs to do it, the skin is located here : /home/pi/.xbmc/addons
boom, thanks :)
Dear All
I am new here and havimg problems installing the XBMC.
I am using pleax with my new LG plasma.
What version shpuld I download ? i see that there are 4 links at page one… which one from them ?
How can I install it ? i dont see in the zip file .exe file …
Thank you !
You're making things entirely too complicated for yourself: PleXBMC is for people who don't have Plex-supported devices.
With an LG TV, you only need to install Plex Media Server on a computer on the network.
See this link: http://www.plexapp.com/medialink/files/index.html
Thanks
OK now I get it but still I have an issue which I can't resolv...
Can you please see this loink with my questions ? http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php/topic/47368-using-play-to-play-all-videos/page__pid__296099#entry296099
Thanks
Thanks again for this fantastic add-on! I am now using the Aeon MQ3 skin for XBMC with PleXBMC. Aeon MQ3 allows custom main navigation links and is a great looking skin. I have set up main menu links as follows:
- Movies (sub-menu: Recently Added, Recently Viewed, By Genre, By Actor, By Director)
- TV Shows (sub-menu: Recently Added, Shows Recently Viewed, Episodes Recently Viewed, On Deck)
- Music
All the main and sub-menu links are just links to Favorites in the PleXBMC add-on. I have disabled all the standard menu links with the exception of Weather, Settings, and Shutdown. It’s very seamless and I quickly forget that PleXBMC is integrated
Thank you for the wonderful work on this. With two iPads, a Roku and an AppleTV 2nd Gen, this plugin allows us to keep all of our viewing synced. The last client is a PC hooked up to a 1080i-only set (rendering the AppleTV useless. Using PlexBMC lets us use that one splendidly. I have two questions about slight functionality improvements.
I saw where someone asked about sort title last year but could not find a response. Is there any way to display title but display items in sort title order? Does XBMC support them independently for addons?
Second, for many uses of the addon (like On Deck), the episodes of multiple shows are intermingled. Is there a good way to add the show name to those views?
I too would really appreciate the "Sort Title" being used when displaying items (in order), rather than the "Title." I believe the Plex clients use "Sort Title" by default.
Hippojay, have you made any additional progress on the "artwork updating" issue? I've noticed after a week that the cover art is not being updated in PleXBMC even though I've updated it in the Plex Media Manager. Thanks again for all your hard work!!
How about the viewtypes? I can only have the regular add-on viwetypes, Wall, List and Photoshow, none of those much more stylish ones. Even though the links are on the main screen, this lack of viewtypes really kills the integration.
The viewtypes are a non-issue. I have like 10+ to choose from with Aeon MQ3 ;) You have to create the menu links using Favorites, NOT Add-On shortcuts. I made Favorites for all the locations in PleXBMC that I mentioned. Then I used the Skin settings in Aeon MQ3 to create the menu links, pointing them to the appropriate Favorite. And Aeon MQ3 allows custom submenu links, so I have those configured as well.
I might shoot a video of my configuration so everyone can see how great it works and looks :)
It would be great if you could do that! :D
Just wondering if the Mediastream Redux skin will work correctly with PleXBMC, or if anyone has modded the skin to work with the add-on.
I’m using the addon to great success but have what might be a dumb question. I’m using the modified Quartz skin (ga89e851) and was hoping to use the shelf to pull On Deck entries for movies and tv shows. I have no problem modifying the skin myself, if the on-deck data is already produced during the initial run of the addon (with the skin) option. Are those available after it runs?
I just installed PlexBMC and its working without any issues. Keep up the good work
I was just wondering…Is there a way to enable watched/unwatched/resume by watching a video through the “normal video” section (Movies, TV Shows etc) of XBMC i.e not watching it through the PleXBMC addon?
Can this be done via a script that runs each time a video is played which updates the PMS with the latest info such as recent movie played, resume recent movie etc.
The reason I ask this is that I have set up XBMC how I like it, prior to discovering pleXBMC and now each time I boot XBMC, I have to “go out of my way” to run pleXBMC.
My main aim is to try and implement a way continue watching a movie or TV Show, where I left off, from my HTPC running XBMC onto an android phone/tablet running Plex without fiddling about with mySQL.
All suggestions much appreciated.
Hi
I’m using Xubuntu 11.10 and I can’t access my PMS. Whenever I try to select the plugin on XBMC it gives me the following error:
[Errorno 111] Connection Refused
Any ideas?
Maybe this was answered in the first 36 pages of this topic (I love it when a topic has good support and activity, but I’ll admit, I didn’t read every single post)…
I have xbmc (11/eden) running on two PCs to watch video streams from my home-grown htpc. I’m looking to step this up to enable transcoding and better tablet/ipad/android support, and with the latest Plex Media Server supporting DLNA, it would fit really well with the two off-the-shelf devices I have too.
So, I’m “not married” to xbmc, but certainly think it’s a great piece of software.
Bottom-line: Why would I install this plug-in in my xbmc install, versus just download and install the Plex Media Center app in the first place? Can someone lay-out the use-case-scenarios where this is a big win over the “native” plex client?
It really sounds like a great plug-in, and I’ll probably test it either-way, but very curious coming at it with newbie-eyes to understand the pros-and-cons.
Thanks in advance,
AJ
