PleXBMC client for XBMC

Is there any way to move LiveTV to the 'top level' in Plex mode in Quartz Skin. It's perfect for my needs otherwise except for the fact that I need to go to a sub-menu item to launch TV.

BTW: GREAT add-on, I'm really enjoying using my extensive PLEX media inside XBMC which now gives me LiveTV. I know you mentioned earlier that there may be a diminishing need for plexmbc but for as long as Plex clients don't provide LiveTV or PVR functionality, I'll be a dedicated user!

Quartz is also not allowing me to select favorites to add to the menu. If I go under Video or TV Shows and hit enter on ‘Favourites 1’ there is no action… yet it works fine for Add On 1.

The transcoder works fine now with xbmc. But I do have a question about chaching.



When I use standard upnp i’ve set my advancedsettings to a buffersize from about 15 MB.

above is the setting I use now. Works great for streaming with upnp.



But when I use plexbmc addon, it does not create a buffer. Did I forgot a setting?



How can I make plexbmc use the samebuffersize as with normal upnp sharing?

I am trying to get this working on Raspbmc and am having a problem, I installed and configured and all looks good, I go in to the add in and get the initial root level list of items such as TV Shows, Movies etc… but when I try and drop down a level to view items inside I just get a script error!! it even does it on the Plex Online and the Channels option and there are no special characters in the names of the items.



The XBMC debug is located here http://pastebin.com/mACtram9, I had a look but there was nothing really stood out to me except the Python exception itself but I have never used your plugin before so I am not sure what things are supposed to look like when they are working.



I have Plex running great on my laptop and a Roku box so I am pretty sure the PMS server itself is OK, its version in case required is 0.9.7.7.



Scrap that, its all working great now I manually installed your plugin from a couple of pages ago! feel like a fool now!!

Hi,

I am still struggling with getting Plex content listed.

In the Movies section . . . the listing remains empty, in Music ( strange enough) it shows the full list of the PlexServer.



Playin a video play sound only . . . so far

Oddly I’m see the cache full error in Plex Home Theater as well. You were right! Likely not related to Plexbmc.



Edit: working now in Plex Home Theater 9.9.64. It’s possible something was fixed in XBMC 12.0 RC3.



Edit 2: Hmm, I take that back. That didn’t fix it. There seems to be a problem where Plex Home Theater thinks PMS is located remotely instead of on my local network. Perhaps Plexbmc is affected similarly. PMS bug maybe?

Hey, i just treid to get plexbmc running on my mk808 android tv stick (the original client is build for tablets).



The problem i got is that i only manage to see the first folders (movies and TV-Shows) but if i click on them it tries to load but nothing happens.



I got the latests builds btw.

:lol: - I can't believe how long this one has taken to find!!!! The problem is the length of the transcoder request and the move in Frodo to the handing the request through libav. After spending some time analysing the network traffic, it looks like (to me anyway) that libav was sending truncated HTTP headers due to a lack of space. I removed some of the extra data I send through and it started working again. This would also have affected some of the Channels that require transcoding.

I'll put a fix together shortly to address this.

I can confirm 3.0.3 fixes the transcoding error problem and I'm now able to playback videos with sound :D . Not sure if related, but Airplay now has sound as well.

Wow great! New versions are working well on the raspi. One question…



Should I be able to fast forward? When I FF using remote at 32x it is just playing the video with no sound. Then if I use the mouse to skip to a position in the movie progress bar at the bottom with a left click it will not skip. Is this by design?

Figured out my issue with Quartz not taking action when the home menu is edited and Favourites 1-7 are selected. You have to install script.favourites in order for it to work.

Would be nice to set a larger buffer, as I experience a few drop-outs sometimes with PlexBMC on my Raspberry Pi.

Could we get some kind of tutorial, or at least a before/after kind of repo to figure out the changes necessary to integrate plexbmc into a skin that doesn’t enable custom home items?

I’m trying to figure out the differences in various adapted skins but with all the constant modifications to both the plugin & the skins it’s kinda hard to figure things out.



Ideally I’d like to adapt Xperience 1080 to plexbmc, with recently added items / on deck lists.

I can play tv content fine. DVDs play fine. HD movies play fine, unless, they contain a DTS-MA or True HD track. I have all of my blurays ripped with this single track, is this what is causing the issue? My videos in this format will load however they stutter, appear to be at 2FPS, and with no audio.



I’m running an i7-3770k, Frodo RC3, and the latest PleXBMC. This is not a major issue for me though because I am really only using PleXBMC to sync my TV Shows.



A major issue for me is that I can mark all episodes of a show watched, but in XBMC it still displays the show; it doesn’t check off the show or the seasons, just the individual episodes. I want to hide the shows/seasons I have already watched in Plex. Is there a fix or workaround for this? THANKS!!

+1 I'm thinking of recreating the Plex MediaStream for XBMC so that I have a consistend interface on all my plex clients but also want to make use of the recent items and on deck features. Any insight in how to alter a skin for PleXBMC rather than looking into various code/skinfiles? Or some pointers in the right direction?
