I am logged into myplex. I can watch tv shows and movies but I get an ocasional error popup in xbmc due to the crash mentioned above :)
What about using the same tool that the YouTube plugin uses? The Common Plugin Cache stores data in a SQL database.

I don't know how stable it is but they appear to have an Eden and Frodo release.
:lol: - I can't believe how long this one has taken to find!!!! The problem is the length of the transcoder request and the move in Frodo to the handing the request through libav. After spending some time analysing the network traffic, it looks like (to me anyway) that libav was sending truncated HTTP headers due to a lack of space. I removed some of the extra data I send through and it started working again. This would also have affected some of the Channels that require transcoding.
I'll put a fix together shortly to address this.
I’m seeing the streams fail as well, under certain conditions. I always have transcoding on, but failures correlate to the bitrates. If the bitrate is 1.5 mbps or less, it works like a charm. If it’s 2 mbps or higher, it fails every time. This is locally, not with myplex… no myplex logins even enabled. This is also unique to the new 3.0.2 version… didn’t happen with 2.X.
Thanks - it's something I looked at a while back when it was released - but I wasn;t sure how best to use it, cache times and whether it would speed anything up (at the time performance was acceptable, and no one really complained it was too slow). However it's probably worth another look, especially with lower powered devices.

I just have a question.
Was Live-TV support removed with the newer versions of the quartz skin?
I updated my XBMC to Frodo today and installed the newest versions of plexbmc and quartz, but live Tv is nowhere to be found.
Two things:
1. It looks like the merge work has removed some menu items in XBMC mode. I need to see what happened there - but it should be a simple fix.
2. You need to turn live-TV on in the skin settings. Although I'm guessing you did that already and it's the first issue that getting you.

Known Issues
- Shelf items do not work correctly with myplex sources yet. This is being worked on.
- Myplex queue items sometimes don’t play. This is an issue with certain plugins (see below)
- Certain plugins are temperamental (such as youtube) and will not play back some items. This is being investigated.
Quartz V3 - 0.7.1 for Frodo
There are still issues with the quartz skin and XBMC specific menu items. This is being worked on. IN addition, I seem to be getting “PVR not started” type notifications on my install - if you see these too, then I’m working on tracking those down also (again I’ll be looking at what changes happened in the Quartz Frodo merge changes)

Hey Hippojay, thanks for the update. Unfortunately this version (3.0.3) isn’t working for me. This is on XBMC 12.0 RC2 on a Windows 8 machine connected to PMS 9.7.9. After configuration, hitting Plexbmc brings up a completely blank list.

thank you very much for this great plugin, it was the only reason why i installed PMS, and it´s fantastic.
I´m using it on my Win8 pc and my Android box and have two problems, sometimes i can´t get my subtitles to be shown, i already tried every setting in plexbmc.
It seems like the naming of my subtitles is correct because i can choose them from the context menu of a movie but still they don´t show in the movie?
In Xbmc i normally named the subtitles the same as the movie but for Plex i have to add the language to the file name(en,pl...), do i have to change the name back like in XBMC
if i´m using "XBMC Control" or "External" in the plexbmc settings?
The second problem is with your QuartzV3 0.71 skin, i can´t get it to work with my android box, 0.6 worked, have you changed something that maybe broke the possibility to use it with android? The skin isn´t showing up in the skin selection, tried to install it("wrong file structure" like in 0.6)in xbmc and copy manually(worked for 0.6).
Do you plan to release QuartzV4 as Plexbmc version?

The windows problem seems to be related to some connection timed out messages when trying to connect to your PMS. As its working with mac/Linux then I guess the media server is working correctly, so there must be a configuration issue or something with the windows client?
The cache full message must be related to XBMC Frodo, as once the addon has located the media, it hands it over for playback. There is nothing particularly special with this process, it simply tells XBMC to play it.
My setup it windows 7 64, frodo rc1 and a 9.7.7 PMS on OSX.

I am kind of fighting with Plexbmc on Openelec
- Quartz Skin even V3 0.6 does not install ( not met dependencies )
- In the Video section Plexbmc does not list content at all . . .
- In the Music section I can see content ( even Video) but not play any of it with Plexbmc
Ah . . . it runs on RaspberryPi
I have attached the log and a bunch of screenshot. The files play when I access them directly ( filesystem )
Any good idea ? I have already turned of IPv6 on the server.

Have you removed the settings where I can remove menus from the main screen?
Eg. Music and Pictures. I don’t use those sections and used to remove them.
I don’t believe so - the conditions to do that still exist in the main file but I’m not sure where the settings live within the skin.
Hmm, I can't remember where the settings were but I can't seem to find them now :(
I believe they are now in appearance just under the skin name. This is one of the frodo changes.

How do I get my plex media to look like it is actually in my xbmc library? Right now I have to click either Movies or TV Shows, then go to Video Add-ons, then PleXBMC, and then Movies or TV Shows again. Is it possible to just click TV Shows from the home menu and see my shows from Plex? I assume this is what the PleXBMC skins are for, but they don’t seem to work with the Frodo release of PleXBMC. Am I missing something?
EDIT: Just found the Frodo release of Quartz V3 after a second look through this thread. Seems to work alright so far. Thanks for all your work on this!
