Force views is very much a workaround for a missing XBMC feature - which is why it's a little clunky. I'm always looking for ways to make it better.
Thanks for the latest version. It is ultrafast (what have you done to it? :) ) and working problem free so far. I'm using fixed server address so I guess it helps to speed things up but nevertheless this version is faster for me than 3.1.2 I was using before.
As for the skin problems I'm puzzled a bit. I use Quartz.Reloaded and Quartz-plexbmc (go figure:). I do not have problems with different views not being remembered.
I.e. - I have adults and kids section under Movies. Adults open up panel view (after filter menu), while kids section ends up in grid view. This works for me in both skins and I DO NOT use forced views at all.
Ehhh, is it just me getting script errors since today's update? Happens with any media when I hit play. It seems to be a playlist error (cannot find the media). I've tried rebooting both the server (latest version on Windows 7), the NAS and the client (Openelec latest running plexbmc). Everything was hunky dorey (for a week or so at least) up until today sometime when I suspect the plugin autoupdated to the latest version. Not sure if this is something silly, I've included a bit of the debug log that seems to contain the error. Let me know if I need to upload any full logs or anything. Any help greatly appreciated! For now, I've reverted back to the plex Windows 8 app on my laptop, and also the Samsung TV plex app, both of which are working fine.

In case you did not know - there’s a rollback button in addon settings that allows you to roll back to previous version of script. It will work only if script was installed via “add from zip” or via repository. It will not work for copy-paste installations.

@pecinko for some reason my installation of xbmc does not have the rollback function enabled for any of my plugins, even though they're all installed by repository. The option is greyed out. Thanks for the suggestion though.

I think its more of a problem for TV shows than movies. The view is reset for each individual show and season, so if you change one TV show, that change doesn't happen for all TV shows.
For movies, a view for "All movies" isn't carried over to "Recently Added" or "Unwatched".
The forced views use "Container.SetViewMode(%s)" to switch the view from the plugin.

OK, after your comments I looked around all the settings to understand what happened and I found why "panel view" didn't worked for me with quartz.
On quartzv3.plexbmc skin, I had to activate the option "Grid & Fanart view modes" in settings/skins !
Now the strict skin settings are working well for me.
May be it's better to activate this option by default ?

Btw, for those handy with git - I've proposed patches for Quartz that should enable posters for tv on shelf and add support for banner views. For those that would like a different skin - you could try quartz.reloaded from my git. Reloaded has no recently added shelf or pvr support (yet).
i'm loving the quartz.reloaded skin. But atm, I use quartzv3 because of the lack of plex feature on the main menu.
I would like to see the recently added or on deck movies / tvshows over the section's names.
Is it yet possible or planned ?

quartz.reloaded looks nice, so you think you'll add "OnDeck and Recently Added', "plexbmc support" and Live TV?

EDIT - I see it is plex enabled...nice. A few things would be really nice:

XBMC views problem is two fold :)
a) they are not remembered for some add ons at all. Or they are, but setting gets reset on addon update :)
b) What are you describing above is that they get saved for every TV Show separately and that is considered a feature of XBMC. Don't know if there is advanced setting that could turn this off.
In case of recently added items I like it as I prefer "Big Panel" view with longer synopsis for it, while using different views for Movies.

1. Not sure it is possible without help from Hippojay and even then - I have quite a few low-res fanart images.
2. I'm affraid this would be up to Hippo to decide
3. On deck and recently added is not a problem skin wise. Problem is that I have not decided yet about home page layout.... and that RA/OnDeck items would be mixed as they are currently served per media type rather than per section. Hippo said he might separate them but I did not want to bother him with it at that time.
4. This is not possible but you can always change to built-in ones or overwrite skin supplied sounds with your own.
PVR support... maybe, if I manage to get working backend again. To be honest I'm not sure how many pexbmc users would use it - you may end up using reFocus or PHT and PVR is not a minor skinning task :)

I haven;t had a chance to look at skins at the moment. I'm current just adding in some basic cache functionality, and need to look at remote music playback with the Helper. But once done i'll definitely start looking into skins again. Perhaps this weekend or over Easter.

I use Aeon Nox with plexbmc. I turned off the xbmc "movies/shows/music/pictures/etc" main menu items and use custom ones linked to items plexbmc. I did this by creating favorites from the plex items. You cant (or i couldnt figure out how) create a favorite from like "Movies" but you can from "All items" under "Movies". Even ones like "recently added" or "on deck" can be added to favorites. Then within Aeon Nox, the favorites can be added as main or sub menu items. You can then seamlessly mix in the Plexbmc menus with the xbmc menu items like Programs (so you can run xbmc add ons) or LiveTV/PVR.
First of all: thank you hippojay for a marvelous job.
I have a somewhat out of the ordinary setup that used to work fine until recently. I'm running PMS (09.7.17.469) on a Mac Mini (OSX 10.6.8). I have a MacBook (Black, 2.4GHz, OSX 10.7.5) with XBMC 12.1 and PlexBMC 2.0 with Helper, that works beautifully. But I also have an iBook G4 (OSX 10.5.8) that runs XBMC 11.0 and PlexBMC 2.1. In prevous version of PMS and PlexBMC that one worked too, but now it lists only the categories in PMS, and either does nothing after that (when the static IP adress of the Mac Mini is selected), or gives an "Unable to connect to host" message (when Bonjour is selected).
The categories are listed with the name of the PMS server in front of it, which is not so on the MacBook. (i.e. Mac Mini Server:Movies). (*edit* not when I leave user name and pw empty for MyPlex. But still no listing or anything beyond that. Channels do work, though...)
The XBMC network settings on the iBook are:
UPnP server: off
UPnP rendering: off
Webserver: on
Port: 8080
user name: provided (*edit* empty now)
password: provided (*edit* empty now)
remote actions: off
Zeroconfig pub: on
Airplay: off
The skin I use is either Confluence.plxbmc (current) or SLik (most other skins don't play nice with the limited graphic capabilities of the iBook).
