Hello all and before I begin excellent product, guides and community.
I've got the whole PMS-Plexconnect-aTV3 system working beautifully.
My current setup:
PMS running on remote server (to which I DO NOT have access to port 53)
Plexconnect and aTV3 are on my LAN with Plexconnect setting modified to reflect PMS IP address.
What I'm aiming to do:
I want to have BOTH PMS and PlexConnect running on the remote server such that I can simply enter the IP of the PMS/remote server into aTV and have it work without any other hardware.
* I realize this can be done with Tomato/dnsmasq/iptables..etc. but ideally I want to avoid relying on a router or having another computer running on the LAN to get it done.
Is there any DNS hosting services out there (kinda like OpenDNS and the likes) that I can set my aTV to use which will redirect all my requests for 'trailers.apple.com' to my remote server where PlexConnect can do the rest using the other [5 digit] ports I do have access to?
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed!
