I was wondering if it would be possible to create a separate channel that would specifically work with PlexConnect for those of us with Jailbroken ATVs. Especially, now that it appears the ATV Plex dev doesn't plan on doing any more work on the ATV client app.
I know PlexConnect was created to be used with ATV3's and non-Jailbroken, but while we're waiting for a more elegant work around, it would be nice if those of us lucky enough to be able to jailbreak our ATV's had an app that we could add to run PlexConnect
Good idea, as the "official" JB Plex app is still broken as far as I know. Then even if there are further changes on Apple's end, the JB app would still be available.
I wonder if it would be possible to just grab the old Trailers app (off an ATV that hasn't auto-updated), modify it enough that it avoids the auto-update (i.e. change its name or com.apple.xxxxxx name), then put it back on via SSH? And you may as well chuck a Plex icon on while you do that.
